Film Genre- Drama

GENRE: DRAMA
A drama is a film that deals a lot with human emotions. They are usually very serious or tense.
Conventions of Drama: They're all real life situations with realistic characters, settings, and stories.
The purpose of a dramatic story line is to move the audience emotionally
Drama can be interlaced with other genres such as comedy, tragedy, etc. It does not have to be complete drama.
Drama Films That Break Conventions A comedy drama, It broke the convention of a typical ending where the audience knew what was going to happen to Larry. The film tried something new, that the audience would not predict. Titanic breaks the conventions as all does not end happily for the protagonists, but has a rather tragic ending.

A Walk To Remember

In Beaufort, North Carolina, a prank on a student goes terribly wrong and puts the student in the hospital. Landon Carter, a popular student with no defined plans for the future, is held responsible and forced to participate in after-school community service activities as punishment, which include starring as the lead in the school play. Also participating in these activities is Jamie Sullivan, the reverend's daughter who has great ambitions and nothing in common with Landon. When Landon decides he wants to take his activities seriously, he asks Jamie for help and begins to spend most of his time with her. But he starts to develop strong feelings for her, something he did not expect to do. The two start a relationship, much to the chagrin of Landon's old popular friends and Jamie's strict reverend father. But when a heart-breaking secret becomes known that puts their relationship to the test, it is then that Landon and Jamie realize the true meaning of love and fate.
I liked this film because it was very interesting and it brought out my emotions a lot.

Outside a movie premiere, enthusiastic fan Peppy Miller literally bumps into the swashbuckling hero of the silent film, George Valentin. The star reacts graciously and Peppy plants a kiss on his cheek as they are surrounded by photographers. SCOTT PILGRIM

The synergies between the film poster trailer and the film to Scott Pilgrim are very similar because, firstly the institutions that are included in the poster trailer and the film, secondly the clothes that the person is wearing in the picture is the same clothes that are used in the trailer and the film, this goes to show how he is as a person it also shows that he is playing his guitar without looking up. this is what geeks look like really, it also seems like he is in a band because in the poster trailer and film he acts like one. the colours that are used in this poster are also used in the trailer and the film for the title. The target market for this film would be tribe wired people from D-E range or maybe even teenagers who like this.

    indiana jones

The sounds at the start before the images are very mysterious, scary and the crow sounds give it a better effect. After some images come, it starts sounding more adventurous.

The film seems really ancient after seeing people wearing dirty, old clothes running in a jungle.

There is more non- diagetic sounds in this which are sound effects and track, than diagetic which is usually just the actor speaking.

A lot of mid angle shots were used, probably to catch the audiences eyes
the music is also pitched high at random times which makes it sound like its important,or signs of danger. the drums sound like and unfriendly tribe.

    West Is West- Comedy Drama

    West Is West- Comedy Drama
West is west was filmed in Bradford in England and Punjab near Chandigarh, a city in the north of India.
this film has a lot of mid legnth shots.
An immigrant father decides to take his truant son back to the old country because hes doesnt know himself anymore.
I like this film because it shows that racism should not be accepted in any part of the country, however i dislike it because it can get annoying.
Manchester, North of England, 1975. Khan family continues to struggle for survival.
Sajid, the youngest Khan, the runt of the litter, is deep in pubescent crisis under heavy assault both from his father's tyrannical insistence on Pakistani tradition, and from the fierce bullies in the schoolyard.
So, in a last, desperate attempt to 'sort him out', his father decides to pack him off to Mrs Khan No. 1 and family in the Punjab, the wife and daughters he had abandoned 35 years earlier. It is not long before Ella Khan (Mrs Khan No. 2) with a small entourage from Salford, England, swiftly follows to sort out the mess, past and present.

Newspaper Evaluation Project- The Daily Telegraph.

The newspaper was founded by Arthur B. Sleigh in June 1855 and since 2004 has been owned by David and Frederick Barclay.
the intended audience for this newspaper is older adults and old people because younger people wouldnt like reading it as it has complicated words and the topics are not interesting enough for youngsters.
The news values that are on this front page is negativity, bad news about a five year old girl who has been kidnapped.
The Mid shots in the middle stand out a lot because they're at eye level and thats what would catch the readers attention first then they'd read whats there about the picture.
